81% of competitors trusted Golf Pride grips at last week’s Open Championship at Muirfield according to data compiled by the Darrel Survey. The statistic shows a staggering 126 of the 156 strong field used Golf Pride grips.

Golf Pride continues its vice-like grip on usage at the 2013 Majors with 82% of the field trusting the company’s grips at this year’s Masters Tournament and 79% of the field relying on Golf Pride grips at the subsequent US Open at Merion.

Golf Pride has been the No. 1 grip on Tour for many years and its success rate in the Major Championships has been truly remarkable. The statistics show that 8 out of the last 10 Masters and US Open winners used Golf Pride grips while 9 out of the last 10 winners of the Open Championship used the company’s grips. 7 out of the last 10 USPGA champions have also relied on Golf Pride grips.

“We are delighted to announce that Golf Pride grips were the No. 1 choice for the vast majority of competitors at this year’s Open Championship at Muirfield ,” said Conor Dillon, Golf Pride’s Sales and Marketing Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“That continues a long-term trend that has seen Golf Pride dominate the grip count at the Majors for many years.”

“Our grips also remain the No. 1 choice on all the major Tours and that is particularly gratifying because we do not pay players to use our products. Golf Pride invests extremely heavily in R&D and that translates into superior products, both in terms of quality and performance. That is why Tour players elect to use our products and it makes us very proud.”

The Golf Pride brand is owned by diversified industrial manufacturer, Eaton, and its Golf Grip Division is recognised as the world’s largest manufacturer of golf grips, with manufacturing, sales and distribution facilities on five continents. The Golf Pride brand is recognised globally as the No. 1 choice in grips among Tour and recreational players, competitive amateur golfers, club manufacturers and club repairmen.
