American Golf launches Xmas raffle in aid of On Course Foundation

12.55pm 21st November 2019 - Corporate

American Golf is calling on the nation’s golfers to support forces charity On Course Foundation this Christmas, as tickets for its annual Christmas Raffle go on sale across 100-plus stores this week.

With 15,000 tickets available at just £1 a time, and prizes donated by some of golf’s biggest names, American Golf is expecting to put an impressive seasonal topping on its year of fundraising for the charity that uses golf to aid in the rehabilitation of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.

Alongside American Golf, the industry has come out in force to support the raffle for On Course Foundation. Top prize comes courtesy of Ping, with a Ping G410 or GLe2 driver fitting at the Ping Centre in Gainsborough on offer, with a full factory tour, lunch and golf. Further prizes include drivers from TaylorMade and Cobra and a selection of other golf clubs, clothing, shoes, bags and golf balls from Titleist, Puma, Under Armour, Wilson Staff and Callaway.

The charity raffle, now in its third year, caps off a year of fundraising at American Golf for this important charity and Will Sturgess, brand manager at American Golf is delighted to be able to offer the brand’s support once again.

He said: “The work of On Course Foundation is a vital component in the rehabilitation of so many servicemen and women. We are proud to have supported the charity over several years, and along with our customers to have helped bring the game of golf and its many health benefits to such an inspiring group of people. The Christmas Raffle is our last push for 2019 and with the help of the nation’s golfers we hope to help On Course Foundation deliver its rehabilitation programme to more people than ever before in 2020.”

Tickets will be available to buy in store from November 25 until December 31 (or until they sell out) with the draw taking place on January 14.

“As a charity we enter our 10th year in 2020, a significant milestone for us, and we continue to be incredibly grateful to American Golf and its customers whose generosity helps us to achieve our aims,” commented Alistair McKay Forbes, managing director at On Course Foundation. “Our Armed Forces may not be involved in major conflict or in the news on a daily basis but our beneficiary numbers continue to increase.  As golfers we recognise the health benefits of the game are numerous, which is why it is such a good fit in supporting the recovery and wellbeing of our members.”
