Adventure Leisure plans further expansion

10.35am 6th February 2019 - Corporate

Adventure Leisure Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Burhill Golf and Leisure Limited (BGL), is planning further expansion in 2019 following a successful period of growth in 2018, which saw the business open four new venues across the UK.

Over the past 12 months, sites have opened in Newcastle, Milton Keynes, and most recently Birmingham, in December. Each new venue has experienced commercial success.

Adventure Leisure Ltd has since outlined significant plans to grow its portfolio of adventure golf venues further in 2019, committing to at least three new sites, including a venue in Basildon, Essex, which is scheduled to open to the public in April.

“It’s extremely gratifying to see our newest venues performing so well,” commented Operations and Development Director, Andrew Scholey. “It certainly gives us confidence to be ambitious and to continue to grow the brand in new locations around the country. Whilst our venues are first and foremost family oriented, we have seen great pick-up with adult groups in the evenings and continually improve our food and beverage offering to provide a great environment for fun on and off the course.”

With the development of Adventure Leisure facilities, BGL looks certain to further capitalise on the growth of experiential leisure nationwide and the existing venues’ success has proved both the viability of the model, but also the positive impact that alternative, more engaging forms of golf can have on participation.

“Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing children as young as two years old pick up a putter for the first time, with a smile on their face. There’s no question we’re providing those children with their first steps into the game and this can only be a good thing for the wider golf industry,” added Scholey.

Combining elements of crazy golf with animatronic characters, sound effects and eye-catching light displays, each of the 12 themed adventure golf venues provide entertainment for all ages.
