Signature Golf joins forces with Asia Pacific Golf Summit

8.19am 28th July 2009 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The Asia Pacific Golf Summit, the region’s premier industry gathering, 26-28 October 2009, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has retained Signature Golf as the event’s Official Marketing Agent in the United States and Europe.

The third annual Asia Pacific Golf Summit is owned and produced by Singapore-based Asia Pacific Golf Development Conferences Pte Ltd, which is affiliated with Asian Golf Monthly and Asian Golf Business magazines and their respective websites. The conference, hosted by the renowned Putrajaya International Conference Center, is designed to share best practices and facilitate business opportunities among golf course developers, owners and operators, club managers and course superintendents.

Mike Sebastian, Managing Director of Asia Pacific Golf Conferences Pte Ltd, said the Kuala Lumpur conference will surpass the highly successful 2008 Summit at Mission Hills, China. The theme of this year’s summit is “Your Golf Course – Protecting Your Investment and Planning for Growth.”

“After the success of the Mission Hills conference, we plan to take the Summit to a whole new level,” Sebastian said, “I can promise all delegates and corporate sponsors that the Malaysian event will represent a quantum leap in terms of staging, content and industry participation.”

The three-day Summit has been structured to address the most pressing needs of the industry against the backdrop of the current global economic crisis. Keynote speakers include three of the greatest names in golf: Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Peter Thomson.

Among the participating sponsors are John Deere, Rain Bird, Club Car, Simplot, EZGo, Troon Golf, Jebsen & Jesson Technology, Phillip Jennings Turf Farms, Golfplan, Robert Trent Jones Golf Course Architects, Schmidt-Curley Design, Hurdzan-Fry Design, Gary Player Group, Nicklaus Design, Arnold Palmer Design, Thomson Perrett and IMG.

“It will be a conference that no golf industry professional with a serious interest in the rapidly developing Asian golf market can afford to miss,” Sebastian said. “As such, we are delighted to have engaged the services of Signature Golf to increase awareness and participation in the Summit by U.S.-based constituents.”

Signature Golf, based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, serves as a full service marketing, communications and business development agency for companies and clubs wishing to build their brands and grow their revenues through the creation and implementation of integrated marketing plans. Signature Golf’s clients have included KPMG Golf Advisory Practice, the KPMG Golf Business Forum, ClubCorp, Manhattan Woods Golf Club, the Club Managers Association of America, the Renaissance Club (Scotland), the LPGA, Golf Digest Tee Times, Image Impact, VCT Corp., and the Italian Golf Federation.

“Having helped many golf stakeholders in America and Europe to forge productive relationships, we are extremely excited about lending our expertise to the Asia Pacific Golf Summit,” said Bruce Lucker, President and CEO of Signature Golf. “The Asia Pacific region is expected to lead the way as the golf industry rebounds from the global economic recession. Insights gained at this year’s Summit will be invaluable to U.S.-based companies that hope to assist the growth of golf in this dynamic part of the world.”
