International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions, has been showing record interest in exhibition stand sales for the 2009 event, which takes place in Malaga from 16-19 November.
In 2008 over 1,400 golf tourism professionals from 63 countries attended the event. To date the 2009 show is 80% sold out, with over 40 counties represented and 350 exhibitors registered. This year sees first time pavilions from the UAE, Balearic Islands and strong participation from Algarve, Lisbon Golf Coast, Morocco, Argentina, France, Dominican Republic and Turkey as well as of course Spain.
IGTM is a unique opportunity for specialised buyers and suppliers of golf travel related products to meet in what is considered the ultimate in golf travel business environment, helping to encourage and initiate business as well as discuss and define industry trends. Buyer, exhibitor and press attendees receive pre-scheduled one on one appointments as well as social networking opportunities during the four day show.
Buyers from around the world meet at IGTM, where they can network with a diversity of exhibitors ranging from golf resorts to tourist boards, airlines and ground transport handlers. In 2008 over 350 outbound golf tour operators attended IGTM and with almost 200 already registered for 2009 we are very confident that 2008’s total will be exceeded this year.
Mark Walsh, IGTM’s Group Exhibition Director said, “The fantastic response we have had for IGTM 2009 so far demonstrates the strength and resilience of the golf market. Last year’s event saw a great deal of business conducted and attending IGTM 2009 is now even more important as we are all facing economic challenges.”
Andrew Stanley, Managing Director of Golfbreaks.com reports, “IGTM is an extremely well organised event and is a superb opportunity to meet the travel ‘world of golf’ under one roof.”
