The TGI Golf Partnership, Europe’s leading golf retail services group, owned by, and dedicated to PGA Professionals celebrated 10 years of events at the Harrogate International Centre during last week’s Golf Show.
To commemorate a decade of heading to Harrogate, the group was presented with a hand-crafted golf cake by HIC Director Simon Kent and Event Planner Deborah Rolph at a special drinks reception on the opening night of The Golf Show.
More than 150 guests including TGI Golf Partners, media and leading figures from the golf industry attended the event, which was held on the group’s stand.
Eddie Reid, TGI Golf Partnership Managing Director addressed guests and joked that he was sorry for bringing the show to North Yorkshire having previously backed the Marbella trade show a decade ago in sunny Spain.
Although, since launching the original TGI Golf Show at Harrogate, the event has now more than doubled in size, expanding from one hall to three within the HIC and will remain at the venue till at least 2020.
“We could never have imagined that from those days in Hall Q we would be where we are today,” said Reid. “It’s become a vital week for the entire golf industry and Harrogate is a great town to work in. The Golf Show has signed an extension to our contract and we will remain in Harrogate until 2020, so we can look forward to seeing you all here for the next six years.”
Simon Kent added: “We have supported golf trade events and watched them develop at HIC over the past 10 years. Now The Golf Show is a major event on the golf industry calendar, taking up three of our halls and attracting visitors from all over the world.”
