Mytime Golf, a division of the social enterprise Mytime Active, has announced that the Pype Hayes Golf Course in Sutton Coldfield will be re-launched to the public on Wednesday 31 July after completely refurbishing the pay and play golf course and clubhouse.
This is the first major investment in the region from Mytime Active who last year took on a 50-year contract to run Birmingham City Council’s seven golf courses.
The revamp of the clubhouse has taken place over the last year and has seen the former building, which was destroyed by a fire in 2009, transformed into a state-of-the-art leisure facility for local residents. The new two-story clubhouse now boasts stylish function suites, a new café/restaurant, and high quality changing rooms. The clubhouse also includes a modern gym with an impressive 60 stations and top of the range equipment for people of all ages and abilities. Significant improvements have also been made to the golf course.
To mark the re-launch, customers will be offered discounted taster sessions at the new fitness facilities and golf course. More information can be found on the Mytime Golf website.
Cllr Ian Ward, Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council said, “The opening of the new clubhouse at Pype Hayes Golf Course will not only provide an excellent, long overdue facility for golfers and the local community, but will herald the start of an investment plan that will transform the golfing experience in Birmingham. This could not have been achieved without the partnership between Mytime Active and the City Council which has provided the platform for change and marks an exciting time for golfers within Birmingham”.
Mytime Active is also confident that the developments will improve the experience and offering to customers and guests.
Mytime Active Chief Executive, Steve Price said, “We are very excited about the re-launch of Pype Hayes Golf Course clubhouse. We believe that through this facility we are providing the entire community with the opportunity for participation in top class sport and exercise. This re-launch also marks our successful partnership with Birmingham City Council”.
Steve added, “We are also committed to similar investment and development at our six other golf courses around Birmingham, including Hatchford Brook Golf Course where work has commenced to develop a driving range and improve facilities.”
