Carr Golf Services, Ireland’s largest golf management company, has completed the first phase of its redevelopment of The New Carr Golf Centre @ Spawell.
It was awarded the management of the facility in April and has completed the first phase of the refurbishment, redecoration and fit out of Ireland’s largest Driving Range Complex. The Spawell Complex, located just inside the M50 Motorway, includes a 60 Bay Driving Range, 18 Hole Pitch & Putt Course, Squash Courts, Golf Shop, Meeting Space, Five-a-Side Soccer Pitches and the popular Darcy McGee’s Pub.
The Golf Facilities have been totally upgraded to include an upgrade of the driving range, mats, a new 3,000 sq. ft. Golf Shop, dedicated junior golf section, dedicated teaching bays, squash courts and a luxurious lounge. A new dispensing system will be installed in the next two weeks and the delivery of 80,000 new golf balls is expected by the end of August. The Golf Centre has been rebranded the Carr Golf Centre at Spawell. Online Tee Time Reservation company www.GolfNow.ie have agreed to enter into a sponsorship agreement with the centre.
Phase two of the redevelopment will involve the upgrading of the 18 hole Pitch & Putt course, the redevelopment of the landing area, completion of a state of the art fitting centre and a further upgrading of the existing teaching facilities. Golf Yoga, Squash Club and a significant move into the area of Junior Golf Development are expected in Q3 & Q4.
Carr Golf Services has also teamed up with Gillian Burrell, one of Ireland’s leading teaching professionals, to launch a skills based learning program “Play2Learn”. The Centre has 6 full time teaching professionals which includes Brendan McDaid, one of the most respected teachers in the game.
Carr Golf Services is part of the Carr Golf Group. The company manages 9 golf facilities, 4 driving ranges and maintains 11 golf courses in Ireland through its sister company Golf Course Maintenance Services. Carr Golf Services also has interests in golf travel and the golf tee time business.
