ETS focuses on field days for 2009

12.03am 9th February 2009 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The European Turfgrass Society (ETS) has lined up an exciting and informative programme for its Field Days to be held in Valencia, Spain, on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd April.

Details were confirmed at an ETS board meeting in November, hosted by Prof. Diego Gomez de Barreda, of the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia. He said, “The Field Days in 2009 offer an extremely useful tool for professionals as they include high-level lectures on the theme of turfgrass in stress and drought conditions.”

A complete turf tour to notable sites in the area will also feature and the varied programme includes visits to research trials, golf courses and parks.

Taking advantage of this opportunity to meet at the Field Days, ETS members are invited to attend the ETS General Assembly, which will also take place at the April event. Further details will follow in the forthcoming members’ newsletter.

And looking further ahead the programme of ETS Conferences and Field Days up to 2012 has now been confirmed: 2010 Conference: Angers – France; 2011 Field Days: Brussels; 2012 Conference: London.

Proceedings from the First ETS Conference 2008 held in Italy are available and include details of scientific and innovative research programmes on turfgrass. And as a special incentive, those joining the Society will be able to purchase these proceedings at a special rate of 100Euros. Available on CD ROM and in Volume format they can be ordered through the ETS webpage: www.turfgrasssociety.eu/home/conference_and_proceedings

For those wishing to join ETS or renew their subscription for 2009 the cost is just 70Euros. Existing members can renew membership in their personal area on the ETS website and new members should complete the form at the membership registration page: www.turfgrasssociety.eu
