The sixth International conference on Golf and the Environment is an in depth and constructive conference dealing with the environmental issues involved with the development and planning of golf courses around the world.
This year the event will be staged at Marbella Conference Centre in Spain 22nd to 24th April 2009
The conference will study environmental factors in relation to planning, design, construction, maintenance and management. The objective is to create a model for the sustainable development of golf courses in the future.
This event is truly international with expert contributions from specialists from around the world. If you are a golf professional, civil servant, consultant, manager or designer working in this field, the Conference will offer invaluable insight into critically important aspects – from concept right up to managing established, on-going concerns.
The conference will address the very latest in developed practices, technologies and renewable energy sources and their relevance to the sustainability of golf in a modern, environmentally conscious world. Conference sessions will be reinforced, where appropriate, by studies of actual developments in Europe and will extend to review geographic information systems as applied to tourism planning.
Other sessions will include vital aspects ranging from irrigation including purification and recycling to the use of new turf varieties and their resistance to drought and salinity.
