New Association for Golf Shows is ‘assurance of quality‘

8.15am 30th August 2007 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The organisations behind Europe’s leading consumer golf shows have come together to ensure customer satisfaction by forming the European Golf Shows Association (EGSA).

The aim of the EGSA is to promote the best golf shows across the continent through cooperation between the members. “Our aim is to work together, sharing ideas and promoting all member shows to an international audience,” said Amsterdam Golf’s Arthur Beerendonk.

The move brings together the leading and established public golf shows in their respective countries: Rheingolf (Cologne); Amsterdam Golf 2007; Salon du Golf (Paris); World of Golf (Zurich); and the Golf Show Co, owners of the London Golf Show and The Golf Show, NEC Birmingham, in the UK.

The founding members were selected for their track record in delivering high standards across all elements of their shows. The association is the brainchild of Rheingolf’s Michael Jacoby who felt such a move could only strengthen what is already a growing industry.

Jacoby said, “I’m delighted to be able to announce the founding of the European Golf Show Association. This will be a superb development for both the trade and the visitors to all our shows. It will ensure that members’ golf shows across the continent are of the highest standard.”

Jay Tyson, projects director for the Golf Show Co, commented, “There have been many copycat shows over the last few years, and unfortunately too many have left both the visitor and the exhibitor feeling let down.

“The EGSA badge is a mark of quality assurance and we at the London and Birmingham shows are very proud to be founder members and will strive to better the standards laid down by the association.”

Jacoby added, “EGSA is looking to add more countries. Obviously they would have to reach the quality levels of the shows promoted by the founding members to ensure we are only promoting those shows that offer the very best visitor experience, to make sure golfers across Europe get what they deserve – the EGSA badge will guarantee a quality event.”

The EGSA members badge reflects the high-quality standard of the founding members’ public golf shows.

The Association will soon launch its own website www.europeangolfshows.com as a joint platform of the EGSA ensures in future that visitors and potential exhibitors will have easy access to information.
