The best Scottish Golf Show yet

11.00am 6th April 2007 - Exhibitions & Conferences

By all accounts, the 2007 Scottish Golf Show, which took place at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston last weekend, was a huge success for all concerned with the official attendance of 14,787 for the three days up by 35% on last year.

The Event organiser, Tom Lovering, commented, “The numbers through the doors this year were terrific but more importantly is the fact that all visitors came to the show with the intention to buy – and buy they did, in their thousands. Some stand-holders were simply stunned by the volume of business they did over the three days.”

He went on, “We were already taking bookings from stand-holders for next year’s show on the Saturday of this year’s event.”

The show promised to be a festival of golf for all the family and it certainly delivered on all counts.

The 28-bay indoor driving range was a hive of activity throughout the show with customers queuing-up to try the latest golf equipment from all of the game’s biggest brand names, whilst the putting greens were also busy on all three days.

Each of the fashion shows, meantime, held captive audiences and the putting demonstrations and junior golf area were scarcely anything other than packed for the duration of the event.

World records also fell at this year’s show when trick-shot star Dave Edwards, urged on by a typically noisy Scottish crowd, beat his own world record for the most golf balls hit in three minutes, managing 311 in that time.

As a result of all this and more, the Scottish Golf Show has now firmly established its place as a permanent fixture at the start of the golfing season, and the organisers of the show, Pro-Sports Promotions, have already confirmed that the event will go ahead once again at the same venue in 2008. The exact dates will be confirmed imminently.
