Toro has hailed its recent series of Toro on Tour roadshows a great success. The roadshows were organised by distributor Lely UK, and involved around 20 of its local Toro dealers throughout the length and breadth of Britain. Golf clubs, including Gleneagles and The Grove, as well as the City of Manchester Stadium, provided the 14 venues for the events.
The roadshows were designed to launch Toro’s brand new Reelmaster 5010 range of fairway mowers to customers and to show them other recent product introductions such as the company’s new Greensmaster Flex 18 greensmower and Sand Pro 5040 and 3040 bunker rakes.
The large number of customers, including greenkeepers, groundsman and landscape contractors, who attended the events were able to test-drive, as well as view, all the equipment on show.
Lely’s national sales manager for Toro professional turf machinery, Jeff Anguige, said, “Toro on Tour was a great success. The roadshows enabled us to get much closer to our golf, sport and landscaping customers throughout Britain, and showcase a number of new Toro products at local level. Holding the events over a full day meant there was time to go into in-depth technical detail and for guests to test-drive the machines for themselves. The format proved very popular and we’ve had positive feedback from those who attended.
“But we couldn’t have organised the tour without a great deal of help from our local dealers, so a lot of credit must go to them for all the hard work they put in.”
In keeping with the ‘test-drive’ theme of the roadshows, customers also had the chance to win the prize of a VIP day out for two driving the British Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone. The winner of the prize was Paul Sleight, who is head greenkeeper at Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club, North Yorkshire.
