Less than two years after being appointed the golf editor of Glasgow-based PSP Publishing Ltd, Bryce Ritchie has picked up a major industry award.
Ritchie, 33, was named the ‘Consumer Magazine Editor of the Year’ at the recent Scottish PPA Awards in recognition of his work at the helm of PSP’s large portfolio of golf titles, including bunkered, Scottish Club Golfer, English Club Golfer and Welsh Club Golfer.
He was appointed to the role in April 2009 and, last year, oversaw a large-scale re-design of bunkered, the country’s biggest-selling golf title, which was warmly received by readers and advertisers alike.
Even so, he confessed that his recognition from the Scottish Periodical Publishers Association caught him by surprise.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have been honoured with such a prestigious award,” said Ritchie. I have to admit I was happy enough to have been nominated but to actually win is something completely different altogether.
“I would like to thank everyone at PSP Publishing Ltd for their support through the years. We have a very hard-working and hugely dedicated team and it’s great to see our hard work recognised in this fashion.”
Paul Grant, the publisher of PSP Publishing Ltd, added: “I am delighted that Bryce has been recognised for his outstanding work since becoming our golf editor under two years ago.
“This award is testament to how quickly Bryce has established himself in the role and the manner in which he continues to further enhance our golf products. I wholeheartedly congratulate him on his achievement and I am certain it will be the catalyst for even greater things to come in the years ahead both for Bryce personally and the PSP Publishing golf division collectively.”
