Victorious Callaway Staff Professional Nacho Elvira led the Cazoo Open from start to finish to record his maiden European Tour title using a full bag of Callaway and Odyssey equipment.
The 34-year-old Spaniard eventually won the event in a play-off, having carded impressive rounds of 64, 67, 66 and 71, for a -16 total, earning him a €191,570 winner’s cheque. Fellow Callaway staff players Callum Shinkwin (4th) and Matt Wallace (8th) also featured prominently in the tournament, which was held at Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.
Nacho’s equipment included Callaway Epic MAX LS Driver, Epic Speed Fairway Wood, Apex TCB Irons, Mack Daddy 5 JAWS Wedges, an Odyssey Toulon Long Island Putter, and a Chrome Soft X ball.
Talking immediately after his victory, Nacho said: “I’m shaking right now. It feels like all the hard work has paid off a little bit. We still have to keep working and try to put ourselves more in this position. This is what we practise for and what we strive for. It means the world to me.”
Neil Howie, President and Managing Director of Callaway EMEA, said: “Huge congratulations to Nacho, a fantastic achievement. He has been so close to his first win a number of times and to now get the job done gives him a fantastic winning platform from which to build on.”
