Mr Zhou Feng (pictured) – Chairman of Brocket Hall UK Ltd, which acquired the business of the stately home, country estate and golf club in 2016, teed off in the inaugural Melbourne Club Trophy which marked the opening of the new club.
The 18 hole competition involved over 100 new members and was played over both the Melbourne and Palmerston courses, named in honour of the two British Prime Ministers who once lived at the Hall. As a nod to Brocket Hall’s illustrious past, the unique men’s and ladies trophies were specially commissioned by Brocket Hall’s Managing Director Michael Longshaw and feature two steering wheels from Ferraris formerly owned by the current Lord Brocket himself.
“I was delighted to see so many of our members participate in The Melbourne Club Trophy on Saturday,” commented Mr Zhou Feng,. “It was a beautiful day, the courses were in excellent condition and the competition was extremely keen! It is my hope that The Melbourne Club Trophy will become a new tradition at Brocket Hall, played for many years to come.
“I am passionate about Brocket Hall’s heritage, and as its new custodian, I am committed to its bright future. This relies upon a thriving golf club. To this end, the management team has already effected improvements to the golf facilities and introduced a full calendar of golf competitions and exceptional social events. The new club will stand for quality golf and an unparalleled membership experience.
“It is my hope to one day establish the Melbourne Club as one of the best clubs in England.”
