Leading sports research and data analytics company Sporting Insights has revealed that a fourth quarter surge ensured that the average number of rounds of golf played per course in Great Britain in 2024 recovered to just below 2023 levels.

The National Golf Foundation’s latest research on golf participation trends in the US reveal that interest in the game is continuing to grow at record levels, with 2024 on track to be the fifth consecutive year where more than 500 million rounds of golf will be played across the 50 states.

The R&A has announced new participation figures that show an increase of more than 3 million adult golfers playing the sport in R&A affiliated markets over a 12-month period from 2022-23.
