Clubhaus PLC has announced the disposal of the business and the assets of both Stapleford Abbotts Golf Club, Essex and Chelsfield Lakes Golf Centre, near Orpington, Kent. Clubhaus PLC has acquired The Essex Golf and Country Club, near Coggeshall, from the Messenger Group at a cost of approximately £5.5 million. It is understood that the purchase price is made up by a cash payment of £1.65 million, assumed debts of £3.1 million and a deferred amount of £750,000 in Clubhaus shares

Clubhaus PLC has announced interim and second quarter results to 30 June 2000, with turnover and operating profit ahead of market expectations. From 25 September 2000 the head office will be re-located to Nizels Golf and Country Club in Kent. This will result in significant overhead savings for the Group
