‘The Point Holidays’ – New name for golfers seeking accommodation in North Cornwall

5.07pm 25th January 2022 - Travel

The Point at Polzeath (known as ‘The Point’), with its award-winning 18 hole golf course and views over Pentire Point in North Cornwall, has renamed its holiday rental accommodation business as The Point Holidays after a significant expansion of its portfolio to include high-quality properties in the surrounding areas of Polzeath, Daymer Bay and Rock (instead of just at The Point itself).

It has also appointed a new managing director, Tom O’Donnell, who has many years of experience and local knowledge from his previous roles, including managing director of John Bray Cornish Holidays.

The Point is a year-round holiday venue within walking distance of Polzeath beach. In addition to the golf course, it also has tennis courts, a fitness centre with swimming pool, gym and spa, a restaurant and sports bar. There are plenty of walks and other activities for non-golfers to enjoy in the area, and as the friendly team at this family-run business all live in north Cornwall, they know all the best local places for guests to visit.

The addition of the new properties to its portfolio means The Point Holidays now offers one of the best choices of holiday rental accommodation in North Cornwall, from one-bedroom apartments to family houses sleeping up to 16 people – all close to The Point’s golf course and the neighbouring St Enodoc golf club.

To look at and book any property, visit the dedicated website for The Point Holidays at www.thepointholidays.co.uk or call 01208 863000 to speak to a member of the team. There are more details of The Point’s dedicated Golf Breaks HERE.

In March, The Point celebrates its 10th birthday after being rescued from administration by Jeremy and Eva Davies in 2012, who have successfully redeveloped the golf course and the business.

Jeremy Davies commented: “Golf has seen a surge of interest as people appreciate the benefits of fresh air and outdoor activities. We have continued to invest and improve our golf course, and this is now receiving recognition. As a result, The Point is now on many people’s ‘must play’ list when visiting Cornwall.

The Point is honoured to be a co-host of the PGA Cornish Golf Festival, the largest Pro-Am event in the country, alongside Trevose and our neighbour St Enodoc. We work very hard at welcoming everyone, including well behaved four-legged friends.

The new managing director of The Point, Tom O’Donnell will lead the continued expansion of The Point and The Point Holidays with a continued focus on providing outstanding customer service with a shared passion to provide unforgettable experiences for guests who enjoy great golf and everything the local area has to offer.

Tom said: ‘We are fortunate to have an abundance of natural beauty on our doorstep and a golf course that is a real challenge for golfers of all standards. We continue to invest in the course and, for example, have recently redesigned the 7th hole.”
