Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort, a member of the prestigious European Tour Properties network, continues to improve its world class experience for golfing guests with the announcement that its onsite restaurant has been awarded a Michelin star.

La Faventia gourmet restaurant was given its first star – a mark of culinary excellence – upon the publication of the 2016 Michelin Guide, a world-renowned collection of the finest restaurants globally.

Executive Chef Philippe Jourdin, who rejoined Terre Blanche last year, said: “I am immensely happy. Since my return in 2015 I worked, together with my team, to offer our guests the best cuisine from southern France, inspired by the seasons, our Provençal terroir and regional produce.”

Managing Director at Terre Blanche Hotel and Spa, Gilles Fouilleroux, said: “This distinction, which represents the benchmark of culinary standards, rewards the dedication, passion and commitment of Chef Philippe Jourdin and his brigade.

“I warmly congratulate the whole team and I am delighted that Terre Blanche has once again been recognised for its gastronomic excellence.”

David MacLaren, Director of Property & Venue Development at The European Tour, said: “On behalf of The European Tour, our warmest congratulations go out to Chef Philippe Jourdin and his team for this outstanding achievement.

“European Tour Properties is proud to count Terre Blanche among its members and we are delighted that it continues to earn deserved plaudits for excellence both on and off the golf course.”

Since 2012 Terre Blanche has also played host to the French Riviera Masters on the European Senior Tour, won in 2015 by England’s Simon P Brown, and in 2016 will host the Terre Blanche Ladies Open on the LET Access Series.

The Provence resort is also the location of the inaugural European Tour Performance Institute, a world class game improvement resource which allows players of all abilities to benefit from the vast knowledge of The European Tour’s medical and performance experts and the very latest swing data capture technology.
