Steinberger Golf Resort reopens in El Gouna following major renovation

11.44am 23rd February 2023 - Travel

Orascom Hotels Management has announced the relaunch of the five-star Steigenberger Golf Resort in Egypt, which welcomed guests back last week after a 10-month renovation project.

Enhancements at the El Gouna-based resort include a brand-new Japanese restaurant, HARUMAKI, where over 70% of ingredients are locally sourced, and guests can watch fresh sushi and teppanyaki being prepared by expert chefs from interactive tables. The new concept is headed up by executive Chef Ismael Abdel Naby, who joined from Sheraton Miramar, El Gouna. In addition to this new culinary offering, there have been renovations to all 268 rooms and suites.

Originally designed by Michael Graves and with the redesign led by GG&Grace International, the hotel is created in a contemporary Nubian style, with arched windows and domes as well as lush gardens set among blue lagoons. The hotel features three swimming pools, one being family friendly, a rejuvenating spa offering oriental and far Eastern treatments in eight treatment rooms, six bars and restaurants to suit all tastes, and a private lagoon, all of which is underpinned by diligent care and warm service by the hotel’s skilled team.

Gauthier Guillaume, CEO at GG&Grace International, says: “We have worked hard in collaboration with Orascom Hotels Management to unveil a brand-new, stunning interior for the Steigenberger Golf Resort in El Gouna. OHM is a longtime partner, dating back to design of The Chedi Hotel Luštica Bay in Montenegro back in 2018, and we are proud to unveil this most recent project.”

Famed for its 18-hole championship golf course, Steigenberger Golf Resort is the perfect hub for golfing year round, in a setting which offers panoramic views of the Red Sea Mountains and sunny skies. Designed by Gene Bates and Fred Couples, El Gouna Golf Club Championship course is PGA level and offers something for golfers of all abilities.

Jens Freise, Chief Commercial Officer of Orascom Hotels Management, said: “The Steigenberger has been a firm favourite for golfers heading to El Gouna since it opened in 1999. With this in mind, we’ve made a substantial investment in order to breathe new life into the property and further diversify its food and drinks offering for guests. The hotel welcomes golfers as well as groups of friends and families year round, and with steady temperatures of 27°C even during the winter months, we look forward to welcoming guests this year.”

The Steigenberger is available to book from £144 per night for bed & breakfast. For more information, visit: https://hotels.elgouna.com/hotel/steigenberger-golf-resort-el-gouna/
