SMS reveals impact of Covid-19 on golf travel plans

Sports Marketing Surveys has released details of research carried out into how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected plans of golfers in England to take an overseas golf break in 2021.

Of those questioned, only 5% thought that it wouldn’t be safe to travel anywhere in 2021, while 13% didn’t think it would be safe to travel abroad next year.

Almost half (46%) said that are planning to carry on with their original travel plans next year, while 17% said they had previously had no plans to take a golf break in 2021.

Just 3% said that they could no longer afford to take a golf holiday next year due to a change in their financial circumstances during the pandemic. 

A total of 22% of respondents said that they didn’t want to have to quarantine following a golf break, while 3% said that following the outbreak of the pandemic they were now considering taking a golf holiday in 2021, having not had previous plans in place.
