Councillor Margaret Toner is delighted with the new online golf booking

Teeing up for a round of golf in South Ayrshire is now just a click away thanks to a terrific new online booking system launched by South Ayrshire Council.

Making it easier than ever to access Golf South Ayrshire’s first-class courses at Belleisle, Dalmilling and Seafield in Ayr; Darley, Fullarton and Lochgreen in Troon; Girvan; and Maybole, the new system allows golfers to book and pay for one-off golf sessions as well as longer-term golf memberships from the comfort of their own homes.

With eight quality courses on offer seven days a week with beautiful parkland and greens as well as challenging links courses, Golf South Ayrshire offers something for everyone regardless of whether you are a first-time golfer or have been working on your handicap for years.

Councillor Margaret Toner, South Ayrshire Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: “Our new online booking facility is a major step forward for the Council which, as we head towards the busy summer season, will make sure members and visitors alike can get the chance to play at the course and time that suits them.

“People come from all over the world to play on our magnificent golf courses in South Ayrshire and now they can book that all important tee-time before they even lift their passports.

“We consider South Ayrshire to be Scotland’s Golf Coast and we are very proud of our immaculate greens, well-tended fairways and club facilities. Golf in South Ayrshire is more than just a game – it’s a way of life – and with our new quick and easy online booking system, it’s easier than ever to find that out for yourself.”

The new online booking system is now available at www.golfsouthayrshire.com for visitors and new full-paying annual adult members who wish to purchase their first membership online.

Existing members can register to use the service by asking at any golf course, or by sending an email with their name and membership identification number, stating ‘please register’ to golf.bookings@south-ayrshire.gov.uk.

If you are thinking of joining Golf South Ayrshire but haven’t yet purchased a membership, you can also ‘try before you buy’ during February and March. All you have to do is go along to any of our eight courses, pay the normal full-price green fee and play your round of golf. If you then take out any of our great value memberships, the cost of the green fee will be deducted from your membership.

Councillor Toner concluded: “We’re working to make it easier to book and more affordable to play at any of our courses and thanks to our new booking system and our great spring offers, we’re doing just that. So why not come and visit Scotland’s Golf Coast – and enjoy the South Ayrshire way of life!”
