The Celtic Manor Resort – host of golf’s 2010 Ryder Cup and premier luxury retreat – announces two premium stay-and-play packages: “Last Chance to Beat the Best” and “Follow in the Footsteps of Giants.”

The Twenty Ten – the first course in history designed and built specifically to host the Ryder Cup – will close on 6 September for final event preparations. A limited number of golfers will have the “Last Chance to Beat the Best” before the Ryder Cup begins on 1 October. The offer includes:

–         One round of golf on the Twenty Ten Course

–         Overnight accommodations in the five-star Resort Hotel with breakfast

–         Complimentary use of the Forum Health Club facilities

–         Ryder Cup souvenir cap, towel and personalized bag tag

Prices are £365 per person Wednesday and Thursday (1-2 September) and from £390 per person Friday to Sunday (3-5 September).

“‘Last Chance’ is a wonderful opportunity to play the Twenty Ten under tournament conditions prior to the Ryder Cup,” says Dylan Matthews, Chief Executive of Celtic Manor. “The course’s idyllic setting belies the challenge awaiting the world’s best players. Get a sneak preview of what promises to be one of 2010’s most pressure-packed sports venues.”

On the heels of the tournament’s completion, Celtic Manor will offer a select number of players the opportunity to “Follow in the Footsteps of Giants,” 5-31 October. For £485 per person, guests receive:

–         One round of golf on the Twenty Ten Course

–         18 holes of golf on one of Celtic Manor’s other championship courses – the Montgomerie (designed by 2010 Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie) or Roman Road (a classic Robert Trent Jones layout)

–         Two nights’ accommodations at the Resort Hotel with breakfast

–         Complimentary use of the Forum Health Club facilities

Says Matthews: “Most people will never play tennis on Centre Court of Wimbledon, bat at Yankee Stadium or take the final turn at Churchill Downs. ‘Follow in the Footsteps’ invites golfers to walk the same fairways seen by a worldwide television audience 48 hours earlier. It’s a great opportunity for North American visitors coming over to watch the Ryder Cup to complete the perfect Celtic Manor experience.”

Prices for both packages are based on double occupancy.
