The Old Course Experience, which has an exclusive agreement with St Andrews Links to deliver premium packages and trade times on the Old Course, was recognised at the recent International Sports Event Management Awards at Twickenham.

Owned and operated by the UK’s leading hospitality provider Keith Prowse, the Old Course Experience received the bronze award in the Event Hospitality and Travel category for the outstanding customer focused approach of its St Andrews-based team. The Old Course Experience tailors trips for visitors from around the world offering exclusive guaranteed tee times on the Old Course, fine dining and cultural excursions.

The Old Course Experience welcomed more than 2000 guests from over 50 countries to the Home of Golf in 2010. Golfers as young as 8 and old as 81 have participated in the programme and past visitors include politicians, ambassadors, prime ministers and kings.

Ted Walker, head of marketing at the Old Course Experience and Keith Prowse said: “The Old Course Experience is characterised by its team who work tirelessly in providing an exceptionally dedicated service to guests. The product allows visitors from around the world the chance to follow in the footsteps of their heroes and we are very proud of how the programme has developed into the jewel in the crown of Scottish tourism.”

Alan McGregor, chief executive of St Andrews Links Trust, said, “This is well deserved recognition for the Old Course Experience. They deliver an outstanding service to golfers visiting St Andrews and play a significant role in enhancing people’s perceptions of Scotland as a golf destination. We have worked with them for many years and continue to be hugely impressed with the warm welcome and excellent service they offer golfers.”
