Dartmouth Course - 1st Tee

Dartmouth Golf & Country Club has signed up as an official PowerPlay Golf venue giving golfers a chance to experience the exciting new format played by the likes of Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell and Paula Creamer.

Hailed as the golfing equivalent of Twenty20 the nine-hole competitions, with two flags per hole, has created great interest since its professional debut in spring saw a host of Major winners and Ryder Cup stars playing live on Sky Sports.

Now golfers can try PowerPlay for themselves with the South Devon resort offering some fantastic packages.

A nine-hole PowerPlay Golf round on the Dartmouth course with coffee and bacon rolls beforehand and a post-round lunch costs just £25 per person.

Alternatively, 27-hole packages with the PowerPlay followed by 18 holes on Dartmouth Golf & Country Club’s Championship course are available from just £35 per person, including lunch between rounds.

Packages including an evening meal are also available and the venue is offering 10 per cent discount to the first five societies to book a PowerPlay day.

Situated in 225 acres of south Devon countryside, just outside the beautiful town of Dartmouth, the resort boasts 27 holes of golf with the 18 hole Championship Course and nine-hole Dartmouth Course complementing each other nicely.

Previously ranked in the top 80 courses in the UK and Ireland by Golf Monthly the Championship Course was designed to challenge the most proficient golfer, with strategic positioning of tees, meandering streams, 12 water features and undulating greens. But while it makes the better players think, it is not so punitive as to spoil a round for high-handicappers and provides an excellent and enjoyable challenge to golfers of all abilities.

Although only a nine-hole layout, the Dartmouth is built to the same high standards as its sister course. Measuring 2,252 yards with a par of 33, it is guaranteed to test players while they enjoy a more relaxed round.

The mild winter climate means closures or temporary greens or tees are a rarity and in addition to golf the resort also boasts first-class leisure facilities, which include an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and spa.
