Golfers will be crossing swords over some of Europe’s most prestigious courses when Golfbreaks.com, Europe’s largest golf travel company, hosts its popular Pro-Am series again next year.

The status of courses on the calendar is even more illustrious next year with, for instance, PGA Catalunya Resort and Valderrama both ranked in Golf World’s World Top 100 Courses, as well as being past hosts of European Tour events. Furthermore, the venues of La Reserva, Almenara, San Lorenzo and Pinheiros Altos each offers a true test of golf and breathtaking scenery in equal measure.

The successful three-round, three-night format used for the 2011 series will be applied next year as it proved extremely attractive to today’s busy professional and amateur golfer who appreciated the opportunity to visit golf’s best destinations while disruptions to any business commitments were minimised.

Initial bookings for the inaugural series earlier this year were taken just days after its formal announcement – and the positive feedback to the events indicates that places will also fill up quickly for 2012.

As with the 2011 calendar, next year’s Iberia-based series will consist of three events, in January, February and March, with two to be held inSpainand one inPortugal. Bonuses of each event’s programme are a welcome dinner on the Thursday along with a prize-giving lunch on the Sunday.

Teams will consist of one PGA Professional supported by three amateurs who will compete against others from acrossUKand continentalEurope. And, building on its support of PGA Pros from the UK and continentalEurope, Golfbreaks.com has announced that each event will feature a valuable £10,000/€12,000 prize fund.

Jim Long, Director of PGA Relations at Golfbreaks.com, commented: “We were extremely pleased with the success of the 2011 Pro-Am series. Positive feedback of the compact format from players proved that this is exactly what today’s busy Professional and amateur want.”

Daniel Grave, Commercial Director of Golfbreaks.com, added: “With high-quality packages featuring even more prestigious venues and luxurious four- and five-star accommodation at competitive prices for amateurs along with healthy prize funds for the winners, the 2012 series is definitely true value for money and should be an even greater success.”

Golfbreaks.com has been able to include some of Europe’s most acclaimed courses on its itinerary thanks to its partner status as an Official Supplier to the Professional Golfers Association of Great Britain &Irelandand the Official Golf Travel Company of the PGAs of Europe.
