Open Visitors Urged To Snap Up Prime St Andrews Properties

10.58am 23rd January 2015 - Travel

Open Lettings websiteAround a third of properties marketed for let during the 2015 Open Championship have already been snapped up by eager golf fans and companies looking to entertain clients.

Local property company Pagan Osborne has listed more than 200 homes on its site www.opengolf2015.co.uk and is urging companies, organisations and golf fans hoping to rent a property during the July 11th to 20th event to act quickly to secure suitable accommodation.

Linda Black, property manager Fife at the legal, financial and property company, said: “With the event just six months away, we are dealing with a high level of enquiries from golf fans and corporate bookers and have already let a significant number of homes. We have a mixture of properties from small flats in the towns surrounding St Andrews to large town centre guest houses. The most popular are certainly those that are within walking distance of the Open Championships and there will not be many of these available for much longer.”

Letting experts have visited more than 370 properties and are currently accepting the final batch to market on its portal.

The average rent for the July event is £5,900 with the least expensive rental, a one-bedroom flat in nearby Kingsbarns, let for £1,500 and the most expensive, a guesthouse on The Scores which sleeps up to 20 people, being marketed at £55,000.

Linda added: “Our considerable experience in letting properties for this event and local expertise make us well placed to know what will suit those visiting the area for a personal or professional visit to St Andrews to enjoy the golf. Renting a property gives a great homely base for the duration of the tournament and can be a highly cost-effective way to enjoy a stay in St Andrews.”
