Old Course Hotel opens new restaurant

10.43am 10th November 2021 - Travel

The Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa in St Andrews has opened a new restaurant and bar that features breathtaking views over the Old Course and the Fife coastline.

The Swilcan Loft is the resort’s sixth bar and restaurant offering, and is part of a series of multi-million-pound renovations which took place at the iconic hotel this year, including the addition of a new penthouse suite, guest rooms and refurbished events spaces.

The 74-cover restaurant is located on the fourth floor of the East End of the hotel and welcomes hotel guests and visitors for all-day dining. Martin Hollis, The Old Course Hotel’s Executive Head Chef, who oversees all of the hotel’s restaurants, including the 3 AA Rosettes rated Road Hole Restaurant, will be at the helm of the Swilcan Loft.

Created with locally-sourced Scottish produce, the eclectic international menu will include dishes such as Hot Smoked Loch Duart Salmon Salad, Scottish Black Isle Beef Rib Eye and Local Berries with Champagne & Basil Jelly. The extensive wine and bar list will feature signature cocktails including the Islay Air – a warming cocktail for winter made with whisky, honey, fresh ginger and chocolate bitters.
