The Costa Brava Golf Association is a collection of some of Spain’s most iconic golf courses. Situated in the Northeastern corner of Spain and bordering France, the region is often referred to as the ‘Tuscany of Spain’.

The centrepiece of the golf offering is undoubtedly the Camiral Golf & Wellness resort, formerly known as PGA Catalunya.

Eying up a Ryder Cup, the two course combination is a must play on every golfer’s wish list. But the other courses in the area, the historic Pals and its sister course Serres de Pals, the wine resort of Peralada and the scenic Torremirona, should not be overlooked.

Dotted around the area are also the Emporda Golf Resort and the mountain top course at Golf d’Aro and all this is completed by the Golf de Costa Brava. A collection of 8 golf facilities now offering a 3 or 5 round digital golf pass that showcases the golf diversity within the region.

Pioneering the golf pass was Visit Cascais closely followed by Barcelona Golf Destination and the Golf Y Vino La Rioja area. A digital golf pass, developed by Zest.Golf allows for golf courses to seamlessly transact multiple rounds over different tee sheets with one central payment and reporting.

The green fee funds get collected online and automatically distributed to each and every booked golf course. One report completes the ease with which these golf passes can get reconciled. There are different pricing and booking options that can be set up in a back end and tee times are pulled live from the various software systems in use at the individual golf clubs.

Kilian Archelaguet Lopez, the director of golf for Torremirona Golf Resort, said: “The digitalisation of golf is now at a faster pace than ever. Having an offline golf pass for a region like ourselves is not keeping up with the times and working with Zest Golf Technologies has us fully online allowing golfers to book our golf courses at any time that suits them without needing assistance from anybody at the golf club. We can see bookings come in automatically, knowing that payments have been sorted so all we need to do is give the golfers the best welcome possible upon arrival.”

The Zest.Golf Channel Manager has created an easily replicable “golf pass” solution that can be used for destinations, multi-course resorts or collections of golf clubs that wish to work together. It allows for multi-level pricing and conditions and also offers a white label booking engine for direct bookings with golfers. With the Zest.Pay Solution, courses can automate their channel payments and funds are immediately distributed to the relevant courses.

Jo Maes, co-founder of Zest.Golf adds: “I’ve been to Girona a number of times and played most of their golf courses, it is a destination to be reckoned with as the South of Spain and Portugal gets fuller and fuller.

“We’re extremely pleased that the Girona Golf Association has opted to digitalise their Golf Pass via Zest.Golf. It reinforces that our solutions are there to help golf courses get more business, more efficiently. As we continue to add customers to our platform, we learn from their requirements and optimise the platform based on their feedback and needs in order to create the most-suited solution for the golf industry.”

The Costa Brava Golf Pass is available via their website www.golfincostabrava.org but Tour operators and travel industry partners should  book via the Zest.Golf platform.
