Marriott Hotels enters agreement with TaylorMade-adidas Golf

12.25am 6th May 2008 - Travel

The Marriott Group UK and TaylorMade-adidas Golf Europe (TMaG) have agreed a partnership cooperation for the coming 2008 season whereby TaylorMade will supply hire sets of golf clubs to all Marriott UK golf destinations.

These Marriott Group locations will now stock TaylorMade golf clubs in as many categories as possible based on their current “open to buy” and shop viability scheme. The Marriott’s golf destination will also stock a range of adidas Golf footwear and apparel on a similar principle.

The agreement, which has been entered into with a view to a long-term relationship between both parties, is focussed on growing average revenue per outlet and developing partnership strategies that enhance both the TMaG and Marriott brands within the UK golf market.

Commenting on the relationship Stephen Follett, director of golf operations, Marriott UK said, “Marriott is the largest golf resort operator in the world and it is essential that all of our properties offer guests the highest standards of rental equipment.
“TaylorMade and adidas Golf are well known throughout the world as one of golf’s premier brands and we are looking forward to forging a close relationship with them in the future and seeing our customers benefit from the partnership.”

Andrew Law, sales director of TaylorMade-adidas Golf, said, “Marriott and TaylorMade-adidas are names the consumer recognise as premium brands and we are delighted with our new partnership and the synergies it brings.”
