La Cala Resort picked up two gongs at the 2019 International Hotel Awards, winning accolades for the best 4* hotel in both Spain and Europe.

The achievement was announced at a red-carpet event in London last week, part of the International Hotel Awards – widely-considered the benchmark of excellence throughout the global hospitality industry.

The Europe Hotel Awards judging team commended La Cala for its outstanding level of service, the range of first-class facilities and the hotel’s stunning location.

The double award comes just a year after Irish owners FBD Holdings instigated a complete refurbishment of the 107-bedroom hotel – part of a series of ambitious works at Spain’s largest golf resort.

Director of La Cala Resort, Sean Corte-Real, said: “This is a monumental achievement that’s beyond even our wildest expectations. We are an incredibly tight team focussed on delivering the best possible experience for our guests, and this award is a credit to the hard-work of every single member of staff. Our ambition is to cement La Cala’s reputation as the premier golf holiday destination in Europe and this is an important step towards achieving that.”
