Kingsbarns reaches out to English golfers

7.12am 18th May 2011 - Travel

Kingsbarns Golf Links will be taking its marketing message on the road when it takes part in the successful O2 Golf Live event at the London Golf Club from May 20 – 22, 2011.

This is the second year of Golf Live, which attracted more than 11,000 visitors to its inaugural event last year and Kingsbarns will be using it as a platform to promote the award-winning links golf course to the English audience.

Kingsbarns will be attending with other representatives from the St Andrews golf scene and offering visitors to the event the opportunity to win a special trip to the home of golf. The prize includes three nights’ accommodation at a five star hotel and four rounds of golf including one at Kingsbarns, which was recently ranked No. 1 in the Top 100 Modern Courses in GB&I rating by the prestigious American magazine Golf Week.

Stuart McEwen, the General Manager of Kingsbarns, said, “We attended O2 Golf Live last year and were thrilled at the level of interest visitors showed in Kingsbarns. This is an excellent opportunity to promote Kingsbarns to a key target market and hopefully to entice golfers in the south east to make the journey to the East Neuk to play golf.

“We have had a great start to the season and the course is in excellent condition. It promises to be a busy summer with a lot of interest in the area following the Open Championship at St Andrews last year. It is pleasing to receive recognition from a publication such as Golf Week and we will be doing our best to ensure golfers have a memorable and enjoyable visit to Kingsbarns.”

Kingsbarns will also be using Golf Live to invite golfers to take part in two special tournaments taking place this season. The Kingsbarns Challenge Trophy is a fourball team competition with the two best net scores counting. Entrants will receive a caddie, golf tuition and compete for an array of prizes before attending the prize giving dinner. The event is scheduled for September 12.

The popular Kingsbarns Classic Tournament enters its third year on October 28 with teams of two playing in a better ball Stableford format with a great selection of prizes on offer.

Entry details are available from Kingsbarns’ recently launched new website. The new site allows visitors to book tee times online within three days of play and pay online with instant authorisation and confirmation.

Kingsbarns continues to offer golfers a 50% discount on a second round if played within seven days of the original reservation.
