Japan has over 2400 golf courses. The USA is the only country in the world with more golf courses than Japan. Japan’s golf courses are known for their beauty, high strategic characteristics and perfect courses maintenance, so why not include a round of golf in your trip to Japan?

The Japan Golf Tourism Association (JGTA) started as a general incorporated association in April 2015. In keeping with the “Sports Tourism Promotion Basic Policy” compiled by the Japan Tourism Agency in June 2011, JGTA is working actively as an organization to promote all-Japan framework of “golf tourism” that treats golf as a tourism resource.

Using golf as the central component of tourist content for expanding the number of foreign inbound and domestic travellers, turning external demand into domestic demand, and fluidizing internal demand, JGTA aims to provide the network and know-how that will be widely used by the many people involved in golf and tourism for regional vitalization, in order to strive to build a tourist community utilizing golf, and to commercialize travel in way that makes effective use of regional resources, etc.
