Golfbreaks.com, Europe’s leading specialist golf travel company, has acquired Xclusive Golf, a boutique agency owned by Sky Sports’ presenter Sarah Stirk that offers luxury and bespoke golfing experiences to individuals and corporations around the world.

The niche agency formed by Sarah in 2009, is being integrated into a new Golfbreaks.com Xclusive Collection aimed at the growing market for high end golf-related travel packages, Pro-ams, corporate events, access to private courses and ‘money can’t buy’ celebrity days.

By the time of the Ryder Cup matches being played in Paris in 2018, it is estimated that this super-exclusive, premium market sector could be worth as much as £10 million a year.

Golfbreaks.com, which organises trips for more than 220,000 golfers a year around the world and has catered for 3 million British golfers over the past 17 years, saw uptake of its travel packages to tournaments like The Masters and The Ryder Cup grow exponentially in recent years. It has also met an increasing number of requests for tailored golfing trips to iconic destinations, having recently expanded into the receptive US and Scandinavian markets.

“The Xclusive Collection extends our quality offering to discerning golfers and we see Sarah as the ideal brand ambassador, given her business acumen and extensive contacts across the world of golf, sports and media,” said Andrew Stanley, CEO at Golfbreaks.com. “She also has a great passion for developing the game of golf for women and offers the perfect cultural fit with our organisation,” he added.

“This is a very exciting new venture for me and I’m delighted to be associated with a company that has such a strong reputation for excellent customer service,” said Sarah, who joined Sky Sports in 2012. “We see a great opportunity to add a new dimension to customised, luxury golf travel and plan to deliver experiential golfing trips that result in truly unforgettable memories,” she added.
