First In Fife Golfpass

8.30am 11th December 2003 - Travel

New on the market for 2004 – and the perfect Christmas (or New Year) present for keen golfers – is the First in Fife Golfpass.
Fife is known worldwide as ‘The Home of Golf‘ but it offers much more than the justly famous courses in and around St Andrews. For the first time, eight courses in west and central Fife are now offering passes for 2004, with prices starting as low as £45 for 3 rounds and £75 for 5 rounds. Easily reached across the famous Forth Bridges from the south, the courses are Aberdour, Balbirnie Park, Burntisland, Canmore, Dunfermline, Forrester Park, Kirkcaldy and Thornton.
Together, they offer a wonderful mix of championship, resort, and ‘hidden gem‘ courses, golf by the sea and in beautiful parkland, and on traditional and new courses. There is a warm welcome in all the clubhouses, including one that is 600 years old.
Ewen Watt, marketing convenor of Burntisland Golf House Club, sums up the new pass: “Our new First in Fife pass is ideal for men and ladies alike, and for golfers of all abilities. Our courses are designed to cheer you up rather than wear you out, and we will be offering a particular welcome to First in Fife golf pass users next season. This will include everything from special advance booking arrangements to detailed information about places to stay locally as 9 hotels, offering a variety of accommodation, have joined the initiative. Above all, our 8 clubs will make all golfers feel at home in The Home of Golf.”
The vouchers that make up the First in Fife pass do not all have to be used on the one visit, so the pass can be used on several trips between April and October 2004 – including day trips from home as well as part of a longer holiday. The pass is also valid at weekends.
Information leaflets with all the details about the First in Fife golf pass are available by contacting Kirkcaldy Tourist Information Centre on 01592 267775 or by email to kirkcaldyoffice@kftb.fsbusiness.co.uk and the passes themselves can also be purchased by credit card over the phone.
