The Els Club Malaysia is pushing to increase the number of tee time bookings across its renowned championship golf courses by joining the recently launched booking app, created by Troon International, a division of Troon, the leader in upscale golf course management.

This app is available for download on all platforms, for example the App store. The app, simply titled ‘Troon International’, will allow any golfer a quick and easy method for booking tee times by searching for their favoured course and choosing the time at which they would like to play. All three of The Els Club Malaysia’s stunning golf courses are featured, meaning that players can secure golf at one of two unique Malaysian destinations easier than ever before.

Mark Chapleski, President of Troon International, said: We are extremely excited to release the app into Asia, and are delighted that The Els Club Malaysia is one of the first resorts outside of the Middle East to sign up for the service.

“This app will allow golfers all around the world to book tee times at their favourite Troon International destinations any time of day.  Currently it is in place in the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman, and now Malaysia but will be expanding to other regions shortly.  We have put considerable thought into development and look forward to seeing our partners reap the benefit.”

Situated upon the island of Langkawi, The Els Club Malaysia’s Rainforest Course is a work of art created amidst unspoilt rainforest and natural beaches. From lush, tropical foliage, the holes meander down to the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea. With unique characteristics in abundance, including no bunkers, the golf course is mesmerising; from 100ft high trees and the constant buzz of rainforest wildlife, to the tranquillity of coastline vistas.

Meanwhile, to the south east of the country, golfers can choose to visit the Desaru Coast, which spans over 3,900 acres of stunning 17km of coastline adjacent to the South China Sea. The 45-hole Els Club property, which encompasses the Els and Vijay Singh-designed Valley Course alongside the Ocean Course, provides golfers with not only the excellence and quality of an Els-designed layout but also beautiful surroundings and world-class facilities to hone their skills. These include The Els Performance Golf Academy, which is the first of its kind in the region, the Big Easy Bar & Grill and the Café 261 – a relaxed terrace experience with golf course views created as an ode to Ernie’s Open Championship successes.

Stephen Havrilla, General Manager of The Els Club Malaysia, said: “We know that apps are becoming increasingly popular as a method of booking tee times and we have decided to push our club into the forefront of golfing technology by offering our guests a more modern and much simpler way to book.

“We are very confident that, through our partnership with the Troon International app, more golfers will be encouraged to discover everything The Els Club Malaysia has to offer.”

Included within the app’s functionality is a full description of each course, providing detailed information on the layout and local attractions that surround it, along with an extensive list of general amenities that each one offers, from the delivery of corporate events to the quality of practice facilities available.
