European Senior Tour players heading to the exotic Indian Ocean island of Mauritius this week will be treated with a stay at the newly rejuvenated Constance Belle Mare Plage resort, a European Tour Destination.
After a six-week makeover that was completed in July, the luxury resort, part of the Constance Hotels and Resorts Group, has unveiled a new look which emphasises the authentic charms that have made this resort so successful for over 40 years whilst offering guests a variety of experiences in a chic yet relaxed atmosphere.
Remaining true to its essence, the hotel has retained the natural elements of stone and wood that have made it a symbol of Mauritian hospitality. These have been revitalised with sophisticated designs and a new colour palette to offer a more contemporary mood. The shape of the furniture, meticulously carved by Mauritian craftsmen, embraces the dashing lines of the common areas which are now more interconnected, achieving a thread of consistency throughout the hotel.
European Senior Tour players, including MCB Tour Championship defending champion Colin Montgomerie, will be accommodated in the newly presented bedrooms, suites and villas which have been revamped in a bold and chic style.
The hotel now seems immersed in its exquisite natural surroundings – with the 2km white sand beach, tropical gardens and sea breeze all there to spoil guests throughout their stay.
The resort’s culinary offering has also been reinvented, with a new beach outlet, Blu Bar, offering refreshing cocktails and the gastronomic Blue Penny Cellar now incorporating a “gourmet cellar” containing over 1300 different wines – the largest collection in the Indian Ocean.
The resort’s U-Spa has also had a facelift, with a new interior design offering 10 treatment rooms, including doubles, a hair salon and Brice Nicham’s renowned podiatric studio.
And if that wasn’t enough – there’s more! Messrs Montgomerie and co. taking to the Legend Course this week will discover changes there too, with improvements made to all aspects of the course including new irrigation systems, newly elevated fairways and water features on every hole. The redesign, which was overseen by Links course designer Rodney Wright, promises to offer a challenge and unique golfing experience for every level of golfer, not just the professionals.
