Club Golf Consultancy appointed by Costa Navarino

10.36am 20th April 2015 - Travel

FINAL CGC Logo (1)Club Golf Consultancy appointed the UK Golf Consultant for Costa Navarino in southwest Peloponnese, Greece.

Located in the breathtaking seaside landscape of Messinia, Costa Navarino comprises of two 5-star luxury hotels (The Westin Resort Costa Navarino and The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort), two signature golf courses (The Dunes and The Bay), Golf Academy, Anazoe Spa and a wide range of year-round activities for adults and children which are unique in the Mediterranean.

Designed by Bernard Langer, the Dunes Course has been inspired by the character of the natural landscape, much of the contouring mirrors the rugged outlines of the distant mountains. Close to the sea, there is a links-like feel; further inland, it reflects a more typically Greek landscape of olive and citrus groves. Several holes run along a small river that meanders through the site and there are large undulating greens, wide fairways and steep-faced pot bunkers.

Just a few minutes’ drive from Navarino Dunes, is the Bay Course, which offers an alternative set of challenges, in a quite different setting. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr, the par 71 course places a slightly greater emphasis on strategic play and positional golf. The idyllic setting runs through foothills and right alongside the historic bay of Navarino. Most tees offer amazing sea views and the course rises, falls, twists and turns through three (Seaside, Canyon and Grove) distinct natural landscapes, providing striking contrasts that create a dramatic and memorable round.

Club Golf will be working closely with Andreas Kottas (Leisure Sales Manager, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Costa Navarino) to encourage golfers to come and experience this wonderful resort.
