Specialist golf travel company Chaka Travel has gone into administration.

The Belfast-based company, which specialises in offering golf holidays and escorted golf tours to exotic destinations such as Mauritius, Maldives, Seychelles and South Africa, went into administration on March 13.

The company, which was set up in 1994, traded under the names Chaka Travel and websites chakatravel.com, golfholidaysinsouthafrica.com and mauritiushoneymoons.com.

Under the current ATOL Package Travel Regulations, travellers who had pre-booked trips are entitled to receive a full refund for packages booked for travel from March 18, 2020. Those wishing to retain the flight element of their holiday to use at another time can do so and receive a refund on the costs of rebooking hotels, green fees etc. Other services may not have been paid to the local suppliers and you may be required to re-arrange and pay for these services again. Claims cannot exceed the total cost of the original booking.

Belfast-based administrators James Neill of HNH Group are handling the administration, with any creditor of Chaka Travel Limited with a claim or query, including those interested in acquiring any assets of the company, should email chakatravel@hnhgroup.co.uk or call 02890 278100.
