St Andrews Links has launched two Tom Morris inspired golf packages as part of celebrations for the bicentenary of the Grand Old Man of Golf.
In 2021, the Home of Golf will mark 200 years since the birth of Old Tom Morris with a number of unique events, exclusive content and bespoke, limited edition products.
The Links Trust has created two unique opportunities to play the golf courses he helped to shape, including the Old and New Courses, as part of the centrepiece of their celebrations.
Registration is now open for golfers to indicate their interest in the Tom Morris golf packages, The Brassie and The Honeyman, which will be available from 18th April until the end of June at present.
Euan Loudon Chief Executive St Andrews Links Trust said: “As part of our Old Tom 200 celebrations we want to recognise the diversity of Tom Morris’s achievements and the values he still represents for the town and the game of golf.
“His indelible mark is still very much present across our Links and we felt it was important to provide an opportunity for golfers from across the UK to come and take part in these celebrations, playing the very courses he helped to shape and enjoying some famous Scottish hospitality too.
“Working with teams from across the Links and our Partners Callaway we have created a package of unique, commemorative products and experiences that celebrate the remarkable legacy of Old Tom Morris and provide golfers with a truly memorable experience.”
The Brassie celebrates Old Tom’s legacy as an integral part of the game he so loved.
With guaranteed tee times on the Old, New and Jubilee Courses; it is the ultimate opportunity to play this historic triumvirate of courses. Also included in The Brassie is an exclusive Old Tom 200 Callaway MD4 wedge, Tom Morris inspired menu, Old Tom 200 Callaway Chrome Soft golf balls and commemorative 18th green pin flag.
The Honeyman, named after Tom Morris’s right-hand man and loyal deputy, David Honeyman, offers guaranteed tee times on the Old and New Courses and a range of commemorative gifts, including a limited edition Old Tom 200 baseball cap with personalised embroidery and exclusive Tom Morris driver headcover.
Mr Loudon added: “Old Tom’s presence is still very much felt here in St Andrews, his near lifelong commitment and dedication to the Links and his birthplace unrivalled. As we continue to chart our course to Covid recovery, I am sure it would be a source of pride for Old Tom that this special anniversary will provide opportunities for golfers from across the UK to visit the Links. Restrictions permitting, these golfers in his bicentennial year will be helping to play an important role in re-energising the Links and the town.”
