Antognolla Golf shortlisted as Italy’s Best Golf Course at World Golf Awards

1.46pm 6th May 2022 - Travel

Antognolla Golf continues to feature in the World Golf Awards and has once again been nominated as ‘Italy’s Best Golf Course’ after collecting this accolade in 2020 and being runner up in 2021.

Now in its 9th year, the World Golf Awards celebrates world-class golf courses and excellence in golf tourism with the awards widely considered as being the Oscars of the golf tourism industry. The winners of the awards are chosen by our golf industry peers working within the golf tourism industry as well as by visiting golfers who come and see the club first hand.

Commenting on the award nomination on behalf of the owners, Antognolla Golf Director César Burguière stated, “Winning the award back in 2020 and then just missing out last year has made the entire team work extra hard to return the club to winning ways. We were delighted to hear we have been nominated, so we are all keen to make sure 2022 is the year we collect this prestigious award again.

“We continue to invest heavily in the club and wider facilities both on and off the course, so we hope our visitors appreciate the work we put in to make Antognolla one of the best golf experiences found anywhere in Italy.

“Golf Tourism plays a small but significant part and we have seen our tourism figures grow year on year. With the 2023 Ryder Cup taking place just down the road in Rome, we anticipate another jump in golf tourism due to our location as we are on a prime golf holiday route for any spectator wanting to experience golf in Italy. We know the golf traveller looks to these awards as validation, so we are working hard to bring this award back to Antognolla.

“We would like to thank everyone who has already voted or plans to vote for us and we look forward to welcoming more guests and players to Antognolla Golf in the future.”

Antognolla Golf is one of the most spectacular and challenging golf courses in Italy. It was conceived by renowned designer Robert Trent Jones Junior, with a clever layout, which appeals to all levels of golfer. The team at Robert Trent Jones II Golf Architects (RTJII) have also carefully guided the improvements to the course as part of a significant investment programme to ensure all year-round playability and a world-class golfing experience.

Antognolla golf course is part of the on site facilities of an exquisite hospitality development in the green heart of Italy. Once completed, it will become a truly unique luxury property, operated by Six Senses, with well-being and sustainability at its core.

The World Golf Awards ceremony will take place at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Dubai on 17th November 2022.
