11.27am 31st March 2023 - Travel

Antognolla Golf in Italy has appointed experienced golf travel expert Laura Bortolato to the position of Golf Sales Manager to support the next phase of the project.

Laura is widely respected and highly experienced within the Italian golf industry, as well as in the wider international golf tourism sector, making her an ideal fit for a position that fuses the local with the international.

César Burguière, Golf Director at Antognolla Golf, said: “Laura will be a fantastic asset to us at Antognolla Golf. At a time of such robust growth, it was extremely important to find someone who had both the drive and expertise needed to achieve our ambitious strategy. Laura has over 25 years of experience in high-end resorts and exclusive private golf clubs, making her a very valuable addition to our team.”

He added: “With a Six Senses resort underway and with our continuous investment in the club and wider facilities on and off the course, we have succeeded in crafting a unique golfing experience where elegance meets adventure. We are located in the green heart of Italy, one of the most sought-after Italian regions, and with the 2023 Ryder Cup taking place soon in Rome, we anticipate another jump in golf tourism as well.

Last year we were recognised as the No.1 golf course in Italy by the 2022 World Golf Awards for the second time. We are now shortlisted for the 2023 award, which is testament to the excellence of the ongoing project here.”

Laura Bortolato commented: “I am delighted to be a part of Italy’s most prestigious golf project. The vision of the owners is unparalleled, and they have brought together an exquisite team to bring it to life. It is an honour to be joining that team.

“What drew me to Antognolla was its fast-growing reputation as one the most significant golf and lifestyle projects in Europe as well as the prospect of working alongside a highly motivated and successful team which will not only raise the profile of Umbria, but will also to transform Italy into a top golf destination.”
