The R&A has announced ticket prices for next year’s Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, where Padraig Harrington will be the defending champion. Tickets are now on sale online at www.opengolf.com from today.

“We are offering a large saving on season tickets purchased before the end of January 2008. The cost at £180 represents a 40% discount when compared to daily admission charges for the four practice days and the four days of competition,” said David Hill, director of championships at The R&A.

A daily ticket on the four Championship days (17-20 July 2008) costs £55. Under-16’s will continue to be admitted free of charge and concessions are available.

Ticket enquiries should be directed through www.opengolf.com or +44 (0) 1334 460010.
