8.22am 6th August 2012 - Sponsorship & Events

4sports & Entertainment AG has announced that it will become the promoter of a new event on the European Challenge Tour to be played in Germany. The inaugural tournament will be played in 2013 and it will be hosted at the Hartl Resort in Bad Griesbach for a minimum of three consecutive years.

The negotiation for the event has been handled by 4sports, one of the leading athlete management and sports sponsorship agencies. As the promoter of the event, 4sports will handle all commercial rights and will work closely with the Hartl Resort to create a series of Pro-Ams and additional activity to help encourage participation as well as visitors to the resort.

With five 18 hole golf courses on offer, the Hartl Resort will use the event to help showcase the fantastic facilities on offer for international golf enthusiasts.

Dominik Senn, CEO and Chairman of 4sports, commented: “We are very excited to be the promoter of this new Challenge Tour event in Germany, and are pleased to be the agency that has brought such an important event back to a key golfing nation for the first time in many years.”

Volker Schwartz, Managing Director of the Hartl Resort, was delighted to announce that the resort will be hosting the event. He commented: “We are extremely pleased with the news that the Challenge Tour will come toGermanyand be hosted at the Hartl Resort. We have been in discussions with the Tour and also 4sports for some months now, and are very pleased to know that we made the right impression with the Tour for them to feel comfortable that we can host a fantastic event for them here at the Hartl Resort.”

He added: “We also feel that it is very important for the future of German golf, to have a significant event in the Challenge Tour schedule, as it will give our young national players the chance to succeed on an international level.”

The Challenge Tour were equally as pleased with the announcement, given the absence of a German Challenge Tour event on the schedule. Alain de Soultrait, Director of the Challenge Tour, said: “With Martin Kaymer amongst our most celebrated graduates, it is only fitting that we should host a Challenge Tour event in Germany, so we are delighted that the stunning Hartl Resort Bad Griesbach has agreed to become a new host venue.

“With five courses to choose from – three of which were designed by Bernhard Langer – the resort is a golfer’s paradise, and I have no doubt that our Members will enjoy the opportunity of playing and staying there.

“As well as the resort we should also thank the promoters 4sports & Entertainment AG, whose support and initiative has been one of the main driving forces in getting this tournament off the ground.”
