Tickets for PowerPlay Golf: IGNITION selling fast

Tickets are selling fast for Bank Holiday Monday’s first major PowerPlay Golf event. Watching golf’s elite compete at close quarters is always a thrill, but witnessing superstars tackle PowerPlay Golf’s tough Black Flags for the first time is a true once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Organisers expect a large crowd of sports fans to attend on the day – despite the fact that the event is also being broadcast live on Sky Sports 3.

PowerPlay Golf’s inaugural Tour-style event – officially titled PowerPlay Golf driven by Saab: IGNITION – takes place on Monday 30th May, using nine selected holes on The Celtic Manor Resort’s Twenty Ten course.

Hailed as golf’s equivalent to Twenty20 Cricket, in that it delivers a high-excitement version of the sport in a short time frame, PowerPlay Golf’s two-flag ‘risk and reward’ format promises to deliver an unforgettable experience both for spectators and TV viewers.

Fans will be able to witness first-hand the stellar 12-player field which is headed by both current U.S. Open Champions Graeme McDowell and Paula Creamer, Major Champions John Daly, Ian Woosnam and Helen Alfredsson, plus Ryder Cup stars Ian Poulter and Paul Casey and several other big names.

The big-hitting Daly is set to excite the crowds with his flamboyant style, which is well suited to the risk-and-reward nature of PowerPlay Golf. He said: “I love the idea of getting extra points for firing at the tough flags. PowerPlay Ignition is going to be a real blast and I can’t wait to get out there and give it a rip.”

Golf lovers can also look out for a variety of PowerPlay Golf ticket promotions, many of which offer the chance to win a Pro-Am place with one of the event’s star players on the day. The promotions are being run in conjunction with The Daily Telegraph; Golfbreaks.com; american golf; Howdidido.co.uk; the English Women’s Golf Association; and The Western Mail.

Motoring giants Saab, who are sponsoring the event, have arranged for all Saab drivers who turn up on the day to receive a free entry ticket. And Ignition competitor Ian Poulter has invited his global Twitter audience of well over 1 million people to enter an online competition to play with him in the day’s Pro Am.

PowerPlay Golf driven by Saab: IGNITION is part of Saab Golf Week, and people who pre-purchase tickets to the Saab Wales Open get a free ticket to the PowerPlay Golf event earlier that week.

Ticket details: Adults £15, Seniors £10 and Children Under 16 Free.

Pre-booked tickets are on sale online until May 24th at www.powerplay-golf.com and www.Saabwalesopen.com or by calling the Ticket Hotline on +44 (0) 1633 410318.
