The home of PING Europe to host Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge

3.14pm 2nd April 2024 - Sponsorship & Events

PING Europe has announced its support of Macmillan’s Longest Day Golf Challenge and will host 14 teams at Thonock Park Golf Club – the home of PING Europe and its national fitting centre.

The Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge will see golfers across the country embark on either 36, 72, or 100 holes in one day to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“This challenge is a fantastic way for golfers to show their support of such an important charity,” comments Lisa Lovatt, Managing Director at PING Europe.

“Here at Thonock Park, home to our PING Europe headquarters, we are proud to be hosting an event in June – providing any golfer the opportunity to give the challenge a go! It’s for a great cause, and we will certainly be taking part ourselves to raise money.”

Starting from 4am on 20th June, 14 teams of four golfers will take to the fairways of Thonock Park. The free of charge slots are on a first come, first serve basis, and are available for a team who may not have access to a venue.

Claire Rowney, Executive Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Innovation at Macmillan Cancer Support, says: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support from PING Europe and can’t wait to see all our amazing supporters out on the course this summer taking on the Longest Day Golf Challenge. Every penny raised will help us do whatever it takes to provide vital support for people living with cancer, when they need it most.”

The Thonock Park event is just a part of the overall Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge initiative. Anybody willing to participate can sign up to play at any venue and be in with a chance to win a PING prize bundle.

PING is giving away one complete set of golf clubs and bag, with a free fitting at the PING national fitting centre in Gainsborough, two sets of four Macmillan branded PING carry bags, and 30 sets of four Macmillan branded PING hats.

Anyone who is interested in taking part can register and find out more information via  https://longestdaygolf.macmillan.org.uk.
