The PGA has announced a four-year Principal Partnership with travel insurance provider Staysure, marking a significant expansion of a relationship that has already shaped the landscape for senior playing opportunities for PGA Members.
Founded in 2004 by Ryan Howsam, Staysure has grown to become a household name in travel insurance, specialising in cover for pre-existing medical conditions for all ages and supporting more than 12 million customers since 2005.
The brand’s commitment to enabling people to travel with confidence has earned it more 5-star Trustpilot reviews than any other provider in its category, alongside nine consecutive British Travel Awards for Best Travel Insurance Company between 2016 and 2025.
As part of the partnership Staysure will extend an exclusive travel insurance benefit to PGA Members, reflecting their understanding of PGA Membership as professionals who travel extensively throughout the year, both domestically and internationally and its commitment to delivering practical value beyond the golf course.
Staysure’s connection to professional golf runs deep, becoming the title sponsor of the European Senior Tour in 2018, before relaunching in 2020 as the Legends Tour – now known as the Staysure Legends Tour. Today, the tour operates a global calendar of more than 20 events across four continents, featuring Ryder Cup captains, Major champions and some of the most recognisable names in the game.
In recent years, that investment in the senior game has delivered tangible results for PGA Members. The Staysure PGA Seniors Championship – the oldest senior professional golf event in Great Britain, established in 1957 – has grown into the flagship event of the Legends Tour season and its recent roll of honour reflects the quality of PGA Membership. Peter Baker and Robert Coles were crowned champions in 2023 and 2024 respectively, underlining the pathway the tour provides for PGA Professionals which has now been secured for a further four-years.
In 2026, the Championship returns to Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, hosted once again by former Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie, with competitors taking on the venue’s new course for the first time.
“This agreement marks a significant impact on our Members,” said Richard Barker PGA, Executive Director – Business Development. “Staysure have a deep understanding of PGA Membership and that has translated into an agreement that delivers on two fronts – securing competitive opportunities at the highest level of senior professional golf in Europe and providing Members with a genuinely valuable exclusive benefit. This partnership has been built on that alignment, and we look forward to seeing what the next four years will bring.”
Ryan Howsam, Founder and Chief Executive of Staysure commented: “Golf continues to be an incredibly important audience for Staysure, particularly among customers who are active, travel frequently and value trusted brands. Through this partnership with The PGA, alongside our wider involvement with the Legends Tour and the PGA Seniors Championship, we have a unique opportunity to connect with PGA Professionals, golf travellers and the wider golfing community in a meaningful and authentic way.
“The PGA is one of the most respected organisations in golf, and we are proud to work collaboratively to help strengthen its partner network, support its Members and continue growing the game at every level.”
