Slaley Hall ready to host Clutch Pro Tour’s biggest event

8.30am 8th August 2023 - Sponsorship & Events

Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort will play host to the biggest tournament event to have been hosted by the Clutch Pro Tour, with a purse of £100,000 on offer at this week’s event, which takes place from August 9-11.

Clutch Pro Tour is Europe’s leading ‘open access’ pro golf tour, offering high-quality tournaments with unique incentives. The objective is to provide a platform for player development and to stage meaningful tournaments that have the potential to shape players’ careers.

Slaley Hall boasts two 18-hole courses – The Priestman and The Hunting, with the latter designed by former Ryder Cup player Dave Thomas, and host to a number of the European Senior Tour events. The Clutch Pro Tour event is being played across both courses.

Slaley Hall has a long and storied relationship with professional golf, as it has played host to more than 20 European Tour, Senior Tour and PGA Cup events, with the most recent professional involvement coming from the PGA EuroPro Tour. Furthermore, Slaley Hall welcomed the Asian Tour in 2022; the venue was the first to feature in the International Series in England.

Keith Pickard, Golf, Health Club & Spa Director at The QHotels Collection, is proud of the support that the hotel group is showing to developmental golf. “Everyone at The QHotels Collection is thrilled to be involved with the Clutch Pro Tour and we look forward to hosting fantastic professional and amateur golfers alike.

“The support around developmental golf is currently lacking, which makes us exceptionally proud to champion this level of golf and provide a platform for young professionals to blossom. We would like to thank everyone at the Clutch Pro Tour and we are excited to see how the relationship develops across the season.”

Tom Hayward, co-founder of the Clutch Pro Tour, is thrilled to bring The QHotels Collection on board. “We are delighted and excited to announce this partnership with The QHotels Collection. The vision is to deliver high profile events that support the development of European golfing talent, utilising the exceptional venues and facilities that The QHotels Collection have under their ownership.

“It has been incredibly refreshing to work with a team of people that are so willing and passionate about the development game; the endeavour for The QHotels Collection to provide our players with the best experiences has led to Slaley Hall being chosen for one of our flagship £100,000 events, the highest paid event in Europe at the third tier.”
