Scottish youngsters are once more being given the chance of showing their short game talents in the Scottish Golf Under 14’s Skills Tests which will again be held at the Scottish National Golf Centre, Drumoig on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April.

This year they will be sponsored by Scottish Golf who are working in close partnership with the Scottish Golf Union to increase the awareness of golf in Scotland through their internet site, ScottishGolf.com

Speaking of this new initiative Keith Barber the marketing manager of Scottish Golf said, “We are delighted to be the main sponsor of the Scottish Golf Under 14’s Skills Test programme which we see as the first of many initiatives designed to ensure that every youngster has the opportunity to sample our great game.”

The principal focus of the Scottish Golf brand is to help finance the game of golf with particular emphasis on encouraging young golfers to develop their game.

At the SNGC this weekend, 170 boys from Scotland’s 16 Areas will be aiming to be one of the 26 who qualify for the final at the SNGC on Sunday 7th May when they will be joined by 10 girls from the SLGA qualifying day.

On the morning of the final all 36 players will be given coaching and the chance to practice at the SNGC followed in the afternoon by the Scottish Golf Skills Test finals.
